Lur

My Boy eats gluten free food. Now, making gluten free lunches, thought I in my innocence, would surely be easy! PHAH!

I want to make him little lunchboxes to take to work but finding interesting and tasty things, made with things he LIKES, is astonishingly difficult. I don't want to resort to rice salad every single day...but finding something that is easy to make and portable is a bit difficult. I have lots of recipes for muffins, bread, cakey things...but of course to make them gluten free requires about 20 different kinds of flour, which apparently you have to have all of them in one recipe. And xantham gum. What the feathers is XANTHAM GUM??!!

In other news I got a very strange and unsolicited email from a random girl saying she likes 'The Dreamstone' (the EPIC 90s cartoon of awesome; I suspect she got my email from the many fanlistings for it that I inhabit) and would I like to hear her plot for a fanfic (which she told me anyway). It's awfully Mary Sue but I kind of like it in a way and almost want to write back - but seriously, how random.

I miss Mary Sues. I had the most wonderful Mary Sue when I was younger and since my writing has presumably improved - while my imagination has presumably lessened - I can't write her any more. But I do miss her; I miss writing those awful teenage fandom take-over fics where the Perfect You turns up and has amazing adventures and you basically live vicariously through your pen and your special-snowflake character.

So I partly want to write back to try and relive those innocently self-obssessed, creative days.

But partly I'm mildly unnerved by this random person. ^^;
