How can one prove that it is the Devil that lies and not God? What if they're both lying? The proof that God tells the truth is on his own say-so, and that of his followers. That the Devil is the Prince of Lies is also God's word. There has never been a Devil's Bible, a chance for the other side of the story, and there have been no verifiable stories from people of what happens if/when they get to heaven or hell.
Why would a God create a being of evil? Since God is omniscient and omnipotent, why would he allow evil to be? Why is the end of the world always some distant date and what purpose does it serve? If everything is suddenly fixed, with the end for a need for free will, why do it in the first place? Is it an experiment, in which case, why equip lesser beings with free will and create a creature to tempt them, unless, again, for experimental purpose? Why allow heresy which is in many senses, perfectly natural, ie, the consideration of both sides, the questioning of the state of things, if only to punish for these inescapable thoughts? What purpose, other than the voyeuristic or the experimental nature of a bored child creating an empire of ants, would having a world full of people which you will later at some point end, abandoning these admittedly lesser beings to their own fate? What, in short, is in it for God? What prompted this temporary creation of brief lives where one's very nature is always doomed to fail you - I'm sorry, but thinking is NATURAL, even if, say, incest isn't, in which case, how can you damn a soul for thinking and questioning? - which one day will return to formless nothing and ultimately, nothing has been lost or gained, in God's terms? It's written that he 'made' the angels and therefore Lucifer, so...why bother? God must be lonely, if he is the peerless being, in which case, why make lesser beings to play around with? Unless, of course, he thinks nothing OF we, these lesser beings, especially once he has given them thought processes and then damns them for it when they, naturally, start questioning the order of things? To basically abandon lesser beings without proof of goodness, who are without the sense to just 'know' things and therefore require proof since they are intelligent enough to deduce that not all things are how they appear and sometimes people lie or do not tell exactly how things are - is rather cruel.
Humanity is not omniscient. We do not know the nature of God; how can we? We are lesser. Yet we are possessed of enough wit to have the ability to wonder: what is going on? How can we align the apparent evidence to the idea of God as ALL GOOD? Perhaps if the world never ended and was never scheduled to, I might accept more that there is some purpose to God's existance beyond offering happiness after death on a more or less random basis, but it says in the Bible that the world WILL end. So what's the point?
Being stupid is a blessing, not a curse.
